It All Started With A Wonderful Wedding
Our wedding took place on Halloween. As such we had a costume wedding. Not only was this fun, but it was cheaper for everyone involved. We were married at the local civic center in a gazebo at sunset. We have a large wedding party with two maids of honor and 10 brides maids. We also had a large variety of people from different walks of life in our wedding party. Professionals, stay at home parents, drag queens, young and old, just to name a few.
When it came time for the best man's speech, he surprised all of us especially the wedding party. He announced that he wanted to
share the speech with everyone in the wedding party and would be passing the microphone to each and every one of them. This was one of the many wedding speech ideas he apparently had and this was the tamest. The “best man's” speech took much longer than normal but it was very touching hearing what all our friends thought about us. They were some laughs and some tears.
All in all it was a very touching time for us and one that we will never forget. I am very grateful to the best man for allowing everyone in the wedding party to share in that moment. After the speech's it was time to eat. We had a great spread of food that was provide by my now in-laws.
They made all the food and it was delicious! We had a DJ spinning some great tunes and everyone young and old was up on that dance floor having a wonderful time.
We did the money dance, which I had never heard of until that moment. That was a lot of fun. In case you are not familiar with the money dance, it's when a guest pins a dollar on either the bride or the groom to have a dance with them. It's sounds kind of awful but really it's great fun! The reception went on late into the night.
There was an open bar but much to my relief no one got drunk. At the end of the night we tiredly made our way to our new home (yes, we just moved that week. Planning a wedding a coordinating a move in the same week is something that I do not recommend!). It was truly a night to remember and I am sure that it was a wedding that those who attended would soon not forget!
